Am I starting this right? - AmandaRob - 12-25-2020 Am I starting this right? So I've recently identified an issue with a very niche product and designed a solution (product) for it. I am less interested in creating a business out of this considering this product is so niche and more so just using it for some side cash. I've made a report of cost per unit, initial funds needed for materials, and still need the logistics for shipping but my estimated profit margin is ~30% (minus shipping costs). I'm going to create a prototype and go to said forum of niche product to validate if anyone is interested. If they are, I'm going to do a first run of ~15 units or so and make more. My payment of choice will be PayPal (maybe through eBay if not direct). I also am creating the whole thing myself through a 3d printer and soldering the electronics myself. Am I approaching this the right way? Should I be setting up a business account on PayPal or something? I don't think it's big enough to actually register as a business and again- it's not intended to be unless it somehow takes off which I'm sure it won't. Is there something I'm missing? I'm hoping this is the right place to ask for help. [link] [comments] |
