I need help defining my role in startups - Albert - 10-07-2021 I need help defining my role in startups Hi, I please need help defining a title for my role, and a pricing strategy. Context: I am helping 2 startups owned by friends, where I don't know how to define and price my role, hence I am working for free and I want to change that. The problem is I start for free because i like to help my friends and I like startups and then I don't know how to transition to "I gotta get payed". My role: - Startup number 1: IT Human resources startup. I started from the very beginning (when it was a logo and an idea), and offered my contacts, got meetings where I "told the tale", I contacted and attended call with prospective investors when we were looking for funding and such PR things. Then it got seed funding, contracted interns to do what I did and here I am now, formallly listing it among my jobs on Linkedin but that's it. I am now helping the CEO get interviewed by well known magazines, all for free. - Startup number 2: it is a fintech that got seed funding for half a million USd apporoximately. I am regularly interviewing the founders (they are engineers and have a really hard time answering simple non-technical questions) and getting to know the ins and outs of the company, in order to later contact press with a sexy newsworthy story. I believe my roles(s) could be something like "business developer focused on PR and external commnication" but I am not sure, hence I don't know how much to ask for it. Any commments, insights and constructive critcism is welcome. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
