Seeking useful reference for building a sales team

We seem to have achieved product-market fit and I'm looking to expand our sales team. I am a technical founder so I do not have much training on the sales side of growth. I'm looking for books, articles, or other references that can help me:

  • Strategically higher for specific positions in the correct order
  • Understand the various jobs for the sales team and when they are necessary
  • Define a commission and compensation structure that allows the company to grow without having to give unreasonable levels of commission years from now (e.g., I'm not sure uncapped flat percentages will work and we are not quite big enough to create geographic territories.)
  • Build a highly technical sales team.
  • We sell both hardware and software
  • Our markets include telecom, defense, and other B2B sales.

If there is any content that has helped you, please post!
