It also makes me wonder if it's true, and if so, why it's true? Are we moving away from employment toward consulting, and is that just because of technology? This course will provide you with key skills needed to be a consultant in the age of the 4IR. This course is designed for students interested in understanding the consulting practice, and the methods and tools used by top management consultants to help organizations improve their performance and become more effective. Through a combination of group projects, reading, written assignments, case discussions, guest lectures with leading consultants and consultancy sessions with real clients, students will learn the holistic skills required to be a good consultant. At the end of the course students will learn the practical and crucial aspects of consulting practices, such as generating novel ideas, diagnosing client’s problems, implementing solutions, client management, common mistakes, and the ethical issues in consulting. Consulting projects will be projects on the latest issues in 4IR – students will have opportunities to work directly with leaders of the company. Readings: No compulsory reading for this module.
