Another 3 Ideas That Could be Businesses!

Hey everyone! I post regularly about business ideas and opportunities. I made a previous post like this and you all seemed to like it. I’m back with another 3 ideas. You can check out more ideas like this here.

To preface, I personally think these are 3 solid (albeit not deeply researched) ideas that you could turn into pretty sweet businesses or side projects. Here’s what I’ve been thinking about -

Substack for Texting: Did you know that 98% of text messages are opened? Compare that to the average open rate of email, 20%, and you can see why marketers and content creators like SMS. I’ve seen Jake Paul, One Republic, and even Former Pres. Obama start using text as a medium to contact their supporters.

The challenge is that managing mass texting communication at scale can be challenging. Additionally, I’ve never seen a creator paywall their SMS content, which could be another interesting play. If you’re bullish on these trends, now is the perfect time to create a turnkey solution for publishing content to the masses via text. This would be like what Substack did for newsletter creators.

A New Accelerator Model: This Idea is inspired by this tweet. The gist of it is this, a guy named Shaan Puri is buying a small internet business for roughly ~$25K. His plan is to then give it away to an operator and then help that operator grow it. Here's the thesis, because the business already has a product and a small amount of traction, it’ll be easier to grow than building something from scratch. I love this idea and think it should be applied in a more intentional way - specifically, in the startup accelerator space.

Here’s the idea, rather than a startup accelerator investing $50K in a group of early-stage founders, they should buy 5 businesses for the same price. From there, find rockstar entrepreneurs to grow those businesses and guide them for the 3 months the accelerator is in session. This will differentiate the accelerator from all competition, and I believe they will have a better success rate.

Apply GPT-3 to Twitter: OpenAI and GPT-3 are only going to grow in popularity. So far, I’ve seen some pretty awesome tools created using GPT-3 for website copy, email copy, and ad copy.

As a content creator, I love using these tools to help give me inspiration for short-form text. A place where I struggle is on Twitter, though. I’d love to Tweet multiple times a day, but sometimes I just don’t know what to say. I would definitely use a tool built off of GPT-3 that helps me come up with Tweets.

Thanks for reading! I’ll be hanging in the comments for a while to have a discussion.
