Somebody asked me to join an upstarting agency as founder. It's in a technical niche and the service is about implementing smaller technical projects (don't want disclose here too much).
Most of my friends advice against it due to the typical disadvantages of agency business models (e.g. scalability, low margins).
My question is: is it really possible to make serious money with a service based business? Especially when exiting (compared to ecommerce or SaaS which have much higher evaluation multiples).
