Should I be LLC Member if I have the lease?

I signed a lease for commercial property but I’m not a member of the LLC. My friend is running the business as an LLC and I’m letting him use the space under my lease. Should I be a member of the LLC?

1. What are the risks if I’m not?
2. Will I be taxed if I’m a member?
