I am trying to figure out the best advertising method / campaign I should do to try and improve the reach of an application I recently launched.
Concept
The app is a hyper-local social media app that allows people within a certain geographic radius to share posts and join chat rooms. I won’t plug that app to not violate the rules of the community. But at least you understand the concept and potential audience I am trying to target.
A niche market that I believe this app could easily dominate is the communication at events such as concerts, festivals, or sporting events.
I have tried running campaigns on FB and Twitter however I did not see much success given my limited ad spend budget. Due to the app’s real-time functionality you need a large number of people within a given area to join at the same time which is hard to achieve with social media campaigns.
Here are some ideas that I am kicking around and would appreciate any feedback or new ideas I should look into.
-Human Directionals / Sign Holders at targeted events to try and get fans to sign on at the same time to discuss the event
-Advertising on college campuses
-Stickers/signs in high traffic areas where nightlife is popular
-Running a giveaway online of an item that is popular for the demographic with the requirement being a shared post
-Influencer marketing. An idea for this could be an influencer posting an ad for the app and chatting with their fans at an event or location
