I have no idea what I’m doing.

I have no idea what I’m doing.

I’m the CEO of a startup. We are a portfolio company with a Venture Studio. We have $300,000 of revenue in the bank. I don’t have cofounders. My burn rate is $10,000 a month. $2,000 revenue. Launched in May. Here’s the problem.

I have no idea what this means (I know what the numbers mean) but have no measuring stick of how I’m doing at this stage. Is this early stage company I’ve been asked to grow in a good position based on those numbers? We’ve only spent on salaries, interns, a few tool subscriptions. There’s no rev coming in so every dollar I’m pinching until I figure it out. We’re B2B. No substantial marketing done.

I know that I’m lucky to have this unique opportunity but this is the most honest I’ve ever been. I’m having sever imposter syndrome. I have no idea what I’m doing.

Please offer perspective.

Edited for additional context:

This company was created by the venture studio’s team of developers. It’s is not an concept I came up. It was one they had done R&D on and wanted to launch.

I was asked to led the company given my expertise within the customer segment/industry. However - I have never been a CEO of a startup.

Studios Role: They put money in the bank. I have access to a back office of technical SME’s. Office Space.

When I joined the company it was pre-rev.

Update: thank you for all the advice in this thread and DMs. I’ve made some contacts here, connected with a fractional CFO and have gotten recommendations to some founder communities in my area. Onward.
