Next steps for app development?

I’ve been working on a design document for an app I plan on creating and I just finished it recently, however I’m not sure what direction to take next. I was going to make a detailed business plan, but I’ve been told it’s better to just make a short term plan of the steps that a necessary to launch. How do I go about making a plan for the steps though? I know I have to make a ui/ux prototype and MVP. I’ve also seen people make process flow chart and use cases diagrams, but I’m not sure if those are necessary. Where do I find the info to know what’s necessary for my launch and what’s not?
