I do game events for various clients. I was doing a lot of virtual events last year and it's been great as I can do multiple in one day.
Now I'm getting more requests to do in-person events than virtual. The challenge is, I can only do 1 day if it's in-person (also it has a lower profit). Add travel to that if it's local or outside (where I might lose 1 day just on travel).
The effort is similar whether it's a small group (10-50 people) vs (100 people event) for in-person events.
For the holidays, I'm getting more requests to do in-person events from small and big groups. If I book a small group (eg on Dec 4th), then I have to say no to the big group if they request that day. It's more profitable to do a larger group, but it's a bird in the hand scenario because I might have the larger group booking at the end, closer to the date. I also don't want to refund the smaller group as it'll be a bad reputation, which I want to avoid.
Does anyone face a similar issue and how do you optimize for higher profit during your busiest season?
PS. I'm still doing virtual and offering it, but getting more requests for in-person events.
