I'm UK based and considering setting up a wine bar. I worked in a bar during my three years at university but it has been close to five years since I worked in one.
I used to live and work in London and the wine bars I went to, they were very nice. Had a good selection of wines, a pianist/jazz band and a small food menu of cheese and meats typically.
I now live elsewhere which doesn't really have a dedicated wine bar. It has some more up market bars but they tend to be more spirits focused, especially gin.
I have around £70k in capital if necessary but could also access other funding streams too. I'll be looking in more detail soon about cost of licenses etc, but if you know starting costs for a bar, that would be grand!
With that in mind, I'm wondering whether anyone here has set up a bar or a wine bar specifically. If so, could you give me any advice you might have.
