Should I target rich customers?

When planning your business, should you think about an expensive product that would be intended for wealthy clients?
Because rich people already have the habit of spending easily, often and a lot. Your business will be as profitable as your average customer is.
Poor people only buy food. You can't take money from someone who doesn't have it, quite obvious logic but sometimes forgotten. If you want to make money, you should go where the money is.
