I know the typical startup framework (at least for SaaS) is to validate your ideas before investing tons of resources to build out product.
In the case of an enterprise SaaS or marketplace - this isn't as easy since the barrier to entry to even SPEAK with a business is much higher than an average joe consumer.
For founders starting B2B SaaS/Marketplace that don't have a ton of industry connections in the space they're building - what is the recommended method to validate your product concept?
- Cold emailing seems ineffective since folks can smell the sales breath from a mile away
- Cold calling is the same
- In person conferences sometimes work but are few and far between
And even if you do get in contact with someone - it's rare that they'll introduce you to the decision maker in the company that can answer questions about challenges they might be facing, if your product concept would solve them, etc.
Feedback / how others do this appreciated!
