Is $1,000 big in startups?

I'm currently in my freshman year in an university. It hasn't been much since the start of the semester but I saw lots of business clubs and business consulting clubs in campus. Some were startup group clubs. What I thought was investing my own allowance that I stacked up since 5 into the startups.

However, my seedmoney is $1,000 and a little more, so I'm not really sure if the startup groups will sign me a proper contract for a $1,000 investment. + I don't really know how to write a proper investment contract so I gotta look it up or ask someone.
