How did you find your co-founder?

I'm curious to see how this worked out in the real world. Everything I read tends to point me to people working at a tech company when they both decide to quit in order to start their own venture.

Is this how it really works? I'm currently a solo founder and curious to see how you all went about finding a co-founder. did you put strategic effort into the process or did the stars align in your favor?
