Is it time to make the jump?

Is it time to make the jump?

Hey all. It's been dawning on me for quite a while that my 9-5 job is actually making me depressed, from a mixture of workload, and loss of passion in the field. Our work lost a lot of people during covid so the extra work fell on the others in our department.

My wife and I are currently running 3 businesses, and have minimal debt (two cars with 2 years left to payoff, and a mortgage that we have 45% equity in). We have about 150k cash, and bring in monthly around 8000. We have just launched a newer venture, that still isn't turning Profit (retail), but is on its way to breaking even. We are also beginning to expand this business into selling on Amazon to supplement more revenue.

The struggle I'm trying to solve is, is it worth leaving my 9-5 now to dedicate more time to the 3 businesses to make them more profitable. Or is it better to sit comfortably, collect a paycheck, and reduce the risk of the new venture.

Doing the math, our monthly expenses come out to around 5500, so taking the 9-5 income away would make us break even on a standard month, or have around a 3-800 loss. Running the numbers in my head we have about 40-45 months of savings if all else stays equal.

Thanks everyone for your advice in advanced. This is something I feel I need to do, so I can place my attention more in the growing businesses, the risk just makes me uneasy.

Also my wife and I are 26. If that helps.
