At what point did you start using an external accountant?

We are a pretty early stage company—we have been running extra lean and have been doing everything in-house. Looking to file our 2021 taxes (we have an extension) and were given quotes to just run our accounting/taxes nearly completely by the firm. It only comes out to around 3-4k/year but would free up a lot of space for our designated finance founder to go and find more funding opportunities and considering they’re not an accountant—mitigates the risk of messing anything up.
What do y’all think? At what point is paying this fee worth it?
