So about a week ago I posted that I was a special education teacher. On top of that I actually opened a private school. So the items that are being sold on the Etsy are all student made. This is all apart of the transition plan and getting them out into the world. A big part of my program is that we are not fixing these kids, but building them up to be better version of themselves. I never want them to lose who they are.
So apart of the transition is to open like a pop up smoothie shop. That the kids would run and have their first taste of how to work. I choose something like this because it’s easy and they can still experience everything they need to in order to gain skills and create conceptual networks. My students are ready for it. I worked on an application to a local shopping mall. Hoping for a kiosk. They came back and offered an in line counter right in the food court.
Wow. That would be great. Problem. I only wanted the kids to work 10-2:30
Shop has to be open during mall hours.
I didn’t want the kids to be working like that. My goal was never to make any money or anything. But a part of me is feeling like this is too good of an opportunity to pass up. This could generate some revenue for our school. And we could offer some scholarships or build our own site. All proceeds would go to other projects as well as other program in the state. Because we are also a non profit.
But I have NO idea what I’m doing. I don’t know what I could make. Is this suicide? I can’t fail. My students deserve the best. The world. I can not fail them.
Please help. They want 3000 for rent. I was hoping for 1.5k.

Btw we toured the facility today with the kids. And they were sooooo excited. They knew what was going on. We’d been working on this. Growing them up. They are soo capable.
