I have a lot of property in some places near Split, Croatia (one of the most attractive and visited tourist places in Europe, maybe even the world). I’m not sure where all of the land is located but they’re mostly more or less about 20-30ish minutes away from Split.
Most notably this one land that we (my family) has is, i think, about 1500 m2 (16 145 sq feet according to google) big.
From what i know, people here usually plant olives, have vineyards and stuff you’d usually find in areas with great weather, sea and beaches close, VERY visited touristic places.
My family and i had an idea to plant olives there and use them to make olive oil to earn money since we know people who do the same thing. The problem is that we’re about 8hrs away from Split, Croatia (by car) and only visit it once or twice a year, BUT we would visit it more often if needed.
Now, apparently there are a bunch of different types of olive trees that can be planted, and supposedly they don’t need that much care after a certain point. We have a great family friend (we consider him family) who’s about 50ish years old, retired, and would check up on that land every once in a while so the idea of planting olive trees isn’t impossible.
I want to hear your guys’ suggestions. Weed isn’t legal there so that’s not an option unfortunately lol (i mean it is, but I’d rather be a free man).
One of the main sources of income for people in Split is renting apartments and houses for tourists during the summer and a lot of them can live the rest of the year off of that income alone! Unfortunately this land is i think too far from the city to make an apartment or house even with a pool, plus it’s a pretty big investment sooo yeah…
I’m open to all suggestions since there’s just land there with nothing on it, so there are no limitations in that way.
You must take in consideration that we can go there maybe 3-4 times a year (we’re there for almost a whole month during the summer, like we are here right now for 3 weeks), i have family friends that could help in some way, i have an apartment there so having a place to stay and that sort of stuff and expenses aren’t an issue, but the land is like i said 20-30ish minutes away from my apartment. The land could potentially be bigger than what i mentioned, i kinda doubt it’s smaller than what i said.
Thanks, and sorry for the essay lol.
