Get More Customers Into a Barbershop?

I've been struggling lately with my recently opened barbershop in the Austin area. If I'm lucky I'm getting one or two customers a day and was thinking strategy in regards to promoting the business to get more people in. Would SEO/Google ads for my business be a money wasting overkill or should I focus on a more organic approach? With it being Austin I figure the tech route would be advisable but I've been reading that this might not always be the case. Thanks.
