Would it make sense for a company to offer private building inspection services?
As I see it, if you go ahead and pay 40.000+/- $ for, let's say a roof job, you'd want someone to inspect the final work, and give an "okay", correct? I think there is a fundamental problem in construction, where the paying customers interest aren't being protected. A conflict of interests, where the customer wants quality work, that is done in line with best practices, while the contractor wants things done quickly and cheap, so he makes more money. What you need is someone that has the knowledge to look for errors and point them out.
Would you be willing to pay for something like this? Do you think this is a genuine problem worth solving?
