I know there are a million of these posts, but if you wouldn't mind taking a minute to give some advice I'd really appreciate it.
I have studied computer science for 3 years now and as a kid I loved programming but now I have come to hate it. I want to make a career out of renting out multiple duplex's. I know very little about the VA house loan so any information will be extremely appreciated. My plan is to finish the 2 more years I have left on my USMC reserve contract and then buy my first duplex. I will live in that duplex for one year and rent out the other side. After one year, I plan on buying a second one and living in one of the two, while renting out the other 3 and so on. I heard you can invest up to 400,000$ on multiple properties using the VA loan but I'm not sure if that is true.
How possible is my plan? Am I oversimplifying a much more complex goal? Again, any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for much.
