Question: is promoting a post to an audience on Instagram worth it?

I make polymer clay jewellery and have only been selling for just over a week, but I’ve done okay - most sales have been to friends however and I’m after some organic sales.

Has anyone promoted a post on Instagram before? Is it worth the money for the activity/likes/sales etc?
