When to bring on other C-Level

Let’s say a startup has: Cofounder who is CEO, CTO, VP of sales. Early stage bootstrapped with business development team, engineers , marketing . MVP in development. Is it a read flag to bring on another VP role or COO role(attached with cofounder title) before going through their first stage of funding ? Or does it not really matter
