It's so common these days to see social approval for people who work 16 hrs a day or never take a day off.
I myself work at a startup and also have 16 hr work days or busy weekends from time to time, but I'm not looking for that to be my life in the long run.
How to get to that sweet spot?
I think nothing really makes sense if you don't enjoy the other side of life. Some people will tell me that work is their passion and it makes them happy, I hear you, but I don't buy it.
Don't get me wrong, I love money and I know working hard is key for having a good time and a balanced life, but work should't be the only thing that matters.
Family, friends, sports, art, love, learning, walking on the beach, so many little things in life that make a soul fill full of joy.
The startup life, wow, so much fun, but it can be hard sometimes. Give up 4 years of your life and enjoy the rest, good luck with that.
I love the tech startup life, why?
- Remote work, I live on the beach.
- Flexibility, when the swell comes, I surf.
- No one breathing down my back asking what I do all day, but asking for results.
- Good money to be made, and unlimited opportunities.
Is there anybody reading this, that shares my vision and made a good amount of money?
I want to believe that it's about playing smart rather than hard as fxck.
