Hey guys I'm the founder of a SaaS company that's raised $5 million from Kevin Rose (early investor in Facebook, Square, Nextdoor and former founder of Digg) and a bunch of other A+ investors. To the outside world it looks like "success" but the reality as many of you probably already know is that we have a LOT of stuff to figure out before we reach escape velocity.
The Idea: I'm curious if there is any interest in seeing a full open kimono week by week look inside what it is like try to iterate towards product market fit before the clock runs out?
Context: The company was "born" on Reddit (full context here) so I've experienced first hand how powerful this community can be if you do good work and give back. I think building in public like this could give me some much needed accountability, I could learn from feedback and hopefully others following along learn from our journey too. Best case we build something massive together, worst case you guys can learn from our mistakes.
My Ask: What would you be most interested in seeing?
So far I'm thinking I can share through a post every Thursday our progress towards our goal ($1m ARR in 12 months). Thinking the format would be 52 Week to $1m: Week 1/52 and I would document what we tried (tactics, funnels, product iterations), what we learned and the impact of these efforts.
I've also thought about opening up (over Zoom) our our all-hands meetings once a week where anyone here could dial in and see what we are up to to demystify what actually happens inside a startup. Would that be of interest or is it a dumb idea? What else would be interesting to you to see? I'm very open to ideas and feedback on this!
