How to keep the lights on and start a company

Just like many other people on here I have an innovative idea that I want to turn into a company. But I have a family with bills to pay and not a lot of extra cash at the end of the month. Looking to hear from anyone who has started a successful company. How did they juggle staying at a full time job that pays bill and starting a company that grew quickly?
