Question about shielding personal assets with LLC (Delaware, USA)

Hello folks, I am forming an LLC for my small business, and would like to do everything I can to shield my personal assets (as well as my wife’s) from liability in the event of a worst case scenario.

In Delaware, an LLC can use a PO Box, but an LLC must have a registered agent with a physical address in DE. I live in Delaware, but I am hesitant to use my home address as the business address after reading about “piercing the corporate veil”. It seems like it wouldn’t be hard to find grounds to pierce the veil, even if I’m not doing anything sketchy. Has anyone established an LLC in Delaware using a PO Box for a business address, and their home address as the registered agent address?

For my business, I plan to get a separate checking account once the LLC is formed. I have already used a personal credit card to purchase items for the business (Wix subscription, product samples, etc.). Is that mingling of personal/business funds already enough to pierce the veil in the event of catastrophe?

I’m looking for any advice you might have on how to best insulate personal assets when forming an LLC in Delaware. Additionally any resources you might have so that I can learn more myself are also great too!

Thanks in advance!
